Today I travelled to Tenterfield NSW about a 40-minute drive from Aplin Cottage at Glen Aplin Qld.

I had heard of a grand heritage listed Airbnb Tiligra “Tilly” at Tenterfield NSW built in the late 1800’s, walking distance to cafés and boutique shops. Bek Tom is the owner of #tiligratenterfield and #abodetenterfield a #airbnbsuperhost with #airbnb in the Tenterfield shire and today we had a chat about what the beautiful area has to offer.

When you walk in the front door you will feel energy of relaxation and love as Tilly has a grand personality. Each room offers its unique character, space, and privacy. Relax and read a book on the veranda in the front room or relax in the sunroom with the fire on those cool winter months. This home has 4 bedrooms and I sleep out.

I can see many great conversations around the dining room table that seats 10, while the meals are prepared in the kitchen that is perfect if you love cooking. Lots of stories shared with friends enjoying food with wine and conversation.

With over 50 wineries in The Granite Belt, cideries and breweries, selecting which place to visit while you are here can be a difficult choice.

While you are visiting stroll the streets of Tenterfield and you’ll find many heritage-listed buildings. Pick up a brochure for the town’s self-guided heritage walk from the Information Centre. Stop by the 1860-built Tenterfield Saddler, made famous by Peter Allen’s song of the same name.

You can visit the Sir Henry Parkes Memorial School of Arts, now a National Trust museum, where the speech that propelled the Australian colonies towards federation in 1901 was delivered. The fascinating Tenterfield Railway Museum is in the 1886-built Tenterfield Station.

Tenterfield is 3 hours’ drive from Brisbane, Gold Coast or Byron Bay.
